The Advanced and Creative Hair Professional Level 3 Apprenticeship is designed for experienced hair professionals who want to take their skills to the next level. This programme focuses on advanced techniques, creativity, and leadership within the hairdressing industry, preparing you for more senior roles or even running your own salon.

As an apprentice, you’ll be employed in a salon while receiving structured training at 91Ö±²¥.

You’ll master advanced cutting, colouring, and styling techniques, as well as learn how to create and present fashion-forward looks for a variety of clients and occasions. The course also covers consultation skills, trend forecasting, and the use of innovative products and tools.

In addition, you’ll develop business awareness, customer service excellence, and the ability to work independently and lead others—skills essential for progressing in the hairdressing industry.

To join this apprenticeship, you’ll need to have completed a Level 2 Hair Professional qualification or have equivalent experience in the industry. Employers may also look for a strong portfolio of work and a passion for creativity and innovation.

If you do not already hold GCSEs at grade 4/C or above in English and Maths, you will be required to work towards and achieve Functional Skills Level 2 in these subjects as part of your apprenticeship. 91Ö±²¥ will support you in developing these essential skills alongside your technical training.

Your progress will be assessed throughout the apprenticeship through practical observations, assignments, and a portfolio of your work. You’ll receive regular feedback from your tutor and employer to help you grow and refine your skills.

At the end of the programme, you’ll complete an End Point Assessment (EPA). This includes a practical assessment, a professional discussion, and a presentation of your creative collection to demonstrate your technical ability, creativity, and professionalism.

To begin the apprenticeship, you’ll need to secure employment with an organisation willing to support you as an apprentice. While it is your responsibility to find and apply for suitable roles, 91Ö±²¥ is here to help. We have a dedicated Job Shop located within the college, where you can meet with an Employer Engagement Advisor for tailored support and advice on how to apply for vacancies and prepare for interviews.

After completing this apprenticeship, you could progress into roles such as Senior Stylist, Salon Manager, or Freelance Hair Artist. You may also choose to specialise in areas like bridal hair, session styling, or colour correction.

This qualification also opens the door to teaching, assessing, or even starting your own salon or mobile business, giving you the flexibility to shape your career in a way that suits your ambitions.
